Awards for Implementation of RTI Act-2005
The Swajal Project, Uttarakhand, received its first major recognition on the first anniversary of the implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, for preparing seventeen key manuals related to the Act. Subsequently, the Uttarakhand Information Commission (UIC) conducted an internal review to identify the best-performing departments in implementing the RTI Act, in which the Swajal Project was ranked among the top ten departments.
In 2009, the UIC commissioned an external evaluation committee to assess the RTI implementation across various government departments in Uttarakhand. The Swajal Project emerged as the top-performing department in the state. In acknowledgment of this outstanding achievement, Chief Secretary Mr. I.K. Pandey and Information Commissioner Dr. R.S. Tolia presented a certificate and memento to Mr. Kapil Lall, Director of the Swajal Project, Uttarakhand.
